About Agents for Impact (AfI)

The AFISAR© Rating builds on extensive research to benchmark the rated company against its peers (Rating). Furthermore, we assist impact investors in identifying, structuring and monitoring viable, tailor-made investment opportunities in microfinance globally. Thereby, we build bridges between investors and the world of impact investments and make financial inclusion structurally and legally possible for investors (Research). To further support our business growth, our team is looking for a Business Operations Analyst.

About the job

As Business Operations Analyst you will be responsible for AfI’s day-to-day operations in AfI’s three business pillars (Risk, Rating and Research), closely cooperating with our business teams in Germany, India and Ukraine as well as with our CEO. Thereby, this position offers first-hand insights into impact investing and the operations of a growing, dynamic organization. The candidate will mainly oversee business operations, finance/controlling and marketing/communications, and support the CEO in diverse management matters.

Details: Part time, unlimited employment contract, duty station: Frankfurt/Main, Germany

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Oversight of AfI’s full business operations, finance/controlling, marketing/communications
    • Business operations: manage all administrative tasks around the business teams to facilitate smooth day-to-day activities and thus enable long-term business growth, such as the preparation of presentations, quality assurance of deliverables and preparation of meetings
    • Finance: Coordinate with external accounting provider regarding bookkeeping, processing of creditor invoices, issuing debtor invoices, and coordinate with external auditor
    • Controlling: Manage the business controlling per business pillar and aggregated figures based on business plan, monitoring of budget against actual figures
    • Marketing/communications: Enhance and employ AfI’s marketing and communications strategy, produce and upload business updates (social media and website) to ensure AfI’s visibility, cooperating with external service provider for technical website administration, facilitate usage of marketing and corporate design across business pillars, prepare templates and stay tuned on the latest trends and best practices around sustainability, SDGs and ESG
  • Support to the CEO in diverse management matters
    • Management reporting: Preparation of management presentations for the advisory council and shareholders of business figures and strategies for bi-annual meetings and on an ad-hoc basis
    • HR: Support for AfI’s growing team in talent acquisition and contribute to team spirit through organization of team events (e.g. monthly gatherings, annual Corporate Citizen Day), organize capacity building measures
    • Legal: Contract management with external service providers, coordinate with AfI internal Legal Counsel for general legal matters and with external lawyers regarding German jurisdiction

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Advanced degree in business administration, finance or similar
  • 2+ years´ practical experience in business administration, operations, finance or consulting
  • Hands-on personality and strong sense of responsibility and ownership
  • Distinct eye for detail and high affinity for numbers
  • Effective task and time management
  • Advanced user in Microsoft Office applications (in particular, MS Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Interpersonal skills and high team player attitude
  • Enthusiasm for impact and sustainable finance
  • Proficiency in German and English is required as well as excellent communication, presentation and writing skills

Als Regional Director India and South East Asia sind Sie für den gesamten Prozess von Fremdkapitalinvestitionen in Finanzinstitute in der Region verantwortlich.

Qualifikationen und Kompetenzen:

  • Hochschulabschluss in Finance, Bankwesen, Betriebswirtschaft oder Wirtschaftswissenschaften. Zusatzqualifikationen wie CFA, CAIA oder FRM wünschenswert.
  • Mindestens 10 Jahre einschlägige Berufserfahrung im Finanzdienstleistungssektor mit Fokus Fremdkapitalinvestitionen in Indien und / oder in Südostasien
  • Erfahrung in den Bereichen Financial Due Diligence und Jahresabschlussanalyse, einschließlich Kredit- und Finanzrisikomanagement, insbesondere bei Impact Investments.
  • Erfahrung in der Verhandlung und Strukturierung von Fremdkapitalinvestitionen.
  • Englischkenntnisse, ausgezeichnete Kommunikations- und Präsentationsfähigkeiten, Kenntnisse einer Landessprache sind von Vorteil
  • Die Position erfordert auch Reiseeinsätze in Entwicklungs- und Schwellenländern
